The 1st of March is Saint David’s Day which is a national day and is celebrated in Wales (UK) every year. Saint David is the national patron saint of Wales and the 1st of March is recognised in remembrance of his death on this day in 589AD.

St Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, which makes her the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine. St Dwynwen’s Day is celebrated in Wales on 25 January.
