The Pope is now on Twitter! The 85 year old Pontiff has debuted his Twitter account @pontifex and immediately gained over a million followers. His very first tweet was sent in eight different languages from eight Twitter accounts to the delight of his many followers. A Vatican spokesman said that the Pope had been very keen to get on Twitter.
The Fastest Growing Language On Twitter Today Is Arabic

A recently-released blog on thenextweb.com writes about the results of a study compiled by a Paris based agency, which says that the fastest growing language used on Twitter today is the Arabic language. According to the agency called Semiocast, just over a year ago, only 30,000 tweets were sent in Arabic. Last month, approximately 2.2 million tweets were posted in the Arabic language.
