BBC Children’s Series Now In Manx Gaelic

Children on the Isle of Man, UK, will now have the chance to learn Manx Gaelic by watching the BBC’s Children’s animated series, ‘Friends and Heroes’.  The series has already been translated into 11 languages and has now added Manx Gaelic. It is available with English subtitles to make it easier to pick up the language. Manx Gaelic is the native language of the Isle of Man. In 2009, it was officially declared ‘extinct’ by Unesco but it has since made a remarkable revival.

According to a recent article in The Independent newspaper, the writer speaks about the general laziness and misunderstanding regarding learning languages in the UK. That an ‘everyone speaks English anyway’ attitude prevails in the UK which adds to this ignorant view that there is no point in learning a foreign language. This attitude and misunderstanding has been around for a long time in the UK and seems to be getting worse. But, do you agree with this opinion?

British School Children Must Learn Languages To Boost UK Economy In The Future

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) recently said that it should be compulsory for British school children to learn languages at school right up until they are 16 years old. The need for the next generation of school children to learn languages comes from their concern that the UK is not taking advantage of new markets such as India, China, Russia and Brazil. The lack of people in the UK with the necessary language skills could potentially hinder business with these fast-growing markets.

Individual Spanish Tuition

You can take additional personal Spanish lessons after your Intensive Spanish course, or alternatively you can tailor-make your whole Spanish language course to be one-on-one, concentrating on specific language skills or on specialist vocabulary areas you need. Business Spanish

There are a selection of Business Spanish language courses, so you can study Business Spanish for two hours a day during 1-4 weeks. By doing the complete 4 weeks, you will leave the course well prepared for the Basic Spanish Certificate in Business granted by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce. It is recommended to take this course alongside an Intensive Spanish course.

Spanish and Paid Work Experience

This programme gives you an intensive Spanish language course and real paid work experience in a hotel or country house. You take a minimum of a four week intensive Spanish course at one of the Spanish language schools, then put your new language skills to work in a hotel or country house in mainland Spain, or in the Spanish Canary or Balearic Islands.
