The 1st July each year marks the national day of Canada or Canada Day. In French, the day is called la Fête du Canada. This day celebrates the anniversary of the British North America Act (also more commonly known as the Constitution Act, 1867) when three British colonies were united to become one country, or what we know as Canada.

Prince William Speaks French During First Official Overseas Tour To Canada

Prince William and his new wife Catherine, who are now known officially as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are currently in Ottawa, Canada on their first official overseas grand tour. The Royal couple were met by thousands of welcoming crowds.
