Twitter Is Now Available In 28 Languages

The hugely popular micro-blog service, Twitter, is now available in 28 languages after having recently launched versions in Urdu, Farsi, Arabic and Hebrew. Around 13,000 volunteers helped Twitter to translate its pages and menu options in these four languages. The translated versions will allow many more ordinary people around the world to use Twitter.

This is the first time that Twitter has versions of its service in right-to-left languages but it was quite a challenge to set up. New tools had to be developed by engineers to allow the right-to-left content to show up accurately on Twitter. After this latest wave of language versions, Twitter will again appeal for volunteers to help them translate their service into even more languages, in the near future.
