Spanish Director, Pedro Almodovar Honoured at MoMA

spanish language film volverThe Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York has honoured the Spanish Director, Producer and Writer, Pedro Almodovar. The Director was honoured at their annual benefit event which raises funds for cinematic works to be kept at the Museum.

Guests at the benefit included American actresses Drew Barrymore and Sarah Jessica Parker as well as the Editor of American Vogue, Anna Wintour. Spanish actors, Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, sent video messages praising the Director.

Almodovar is an internationally renowned director famous for films such as ¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto? (1984) – What have I done to deserve this?, Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios (1988) – Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown, Hable con Ella (2002) – Talk to Her and, more recently, Volver (2006) – Return – and Los Abrazos Rotos (2009) – Broken Embraces.
