It’s good to see so many non-English speaking films, actors & directors competing at the Venice Film Festival. Winners were announced on 10 September 2011 and include:

the Golden Lion award for the best film Faust, a German legend, by the Russian director Alexander Sokurov
the Silver Lion award for the best director Shangjun Cai (China – Hong Kong) for the film Ren Shan Ren Hai (People Mountain People Sea)
best actress to Danie Yip from Hong Kong in A Simple Life. Read more
